mr. & mrs. hide - is a portrait of a total relationship approached from both male and female point of view. one could say that it's a love story, but since some people said it's too avant-garde for them, guess it's an avant-garde love story (didn't think those existed, did you). it is also an account of a search for identity in los angeles, the city with an identity disorder, where emotionally desolate urban landscape provides perfect setting for an impossible attempt of facing the reality.

Okay, here it is, our very first motion picture presentation, or at least the first part of it. Don't expect too much, due to the limited space the actual screen will be this big (192 X 144) >>>

but the sound should be okay. The film is based on Part One of our new novel, "Mr. & Mrs. Hide", but consequent films won't follow (the novel has six parts in all).

If you think this is just a cheap trick to promote our novel, you're absolutely right, but then again, we're not asking you to buy anything (yet). So click on the little rainbow screen above and remember, you'll need Windows Media Player or something similar (you're dealing with a wmv-file, 3,17 MB) in order to be able to see or hear anything. Enjoy!

"Mr. & Mrs. Hide" - What’s it all about?

Nasia and Oren are new in Los Angeles. That’s good isn’t it, everybody wants to be new in LA, ‘cause, what’s the alternative - to be old? Only the two of them don’t find it’s such a great asset. The fact they live right across the Paramount Studios doesn’t mean anything because they don’t want to become movie stars or screenwriters. Come to think of it, they’re not quite sure what they want to become, but that’s not stopping them. While everybody else usually has no one to turn to and has to take a desperate dive in the city, Nasia and Oren have each other. In fact, their relationship is the only real thing they brought along. This turns out to be the problem, because neither of them is strong enough, and two "not strong enough" people leaning on each other don’t promise a very stable edifice. Their almost clinic dedication to each other brings to surface all the issues of growing up, searching for one’s identity, facing the challenges of "real life", and distinguishing between the myriad of representations of that "real life". The city itself is no help at all, but that’s only to be expected, because in LA everybody’s eternally young, beautiful, rich, doing something on the side just to pass the time before fame and fortune come knocking. But the actual city is bleak, sun-stained, empty, emotionally and physically. In relation to Nasia and Oren it functions as a third character, the ultimate antagonist; in comparison to the two of them the city is jealous and alone.
